We went on the West day tour in October and liked it so much we did all of 4 full day tours and one of the half-day tours with them. Luis was our guide three times, who really made it for us - he was knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. For the day tours, they suggest somewhere to eat for lunch - but it's entirely up to you if you want to go there, and they don't put any pressure on at all (unlike the bulldogs at the package holiday companies). We ate at the suggested restaurants a few times and liked all of them - reasonably priced and tasty. It's lovely being driven around all day, and you get to see a lot more than you'd be able to on the local buses. We definitely recommend them
We did 2 daily excursions with Happy Tours (10-11 days ago): Go West and Go East tours. Everything was perfect and well organised. The both was with Hugo who is a very sympathetic and professional driver-guide. He shared a large amount of interesting information about this beautiful island. Highly recommended.
Just got back from the Go West tour, picked up 8:30am from our apartment near the Cable Car stop in Funchal and dropped off 4:00pm. Our driver Nélio was knowledgeable and entertaining, a good driver too as we negotiated some twisty routes with amazing views. We stopped at several gorgeous locations and had a great time. In summary, don’t hesitate - just book up and enjoy.
We booked 3 trips with this company. One half and two full days. All were extremely enjoyable. Niko was a great guide with a good sense of humour and very informative. Nelio was also an excellent and witty guide with a great commentary throughout the trip. It was great that owing to the changing cloud conditions he adapted the itinerary to make the best of everything. We saw and learnt a huge amount about the island and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MHT’s for anyone planning on doing the same.
Three of us had a brilliant tour of the West of the Island with Hugo from Happy Tours. He stopped at many places to admire the views; using his local knowledge to avoid the clouds where possible! He kept us informed throughout with a very informative commentary and his driving was excellent. We all enjoyed our swim in the rock pools of Porto Moniz so take your swimming gear if you like that sort of thing! A wonderful full day tour, highly recommended.

Our first tour
We were a bit overwhelmed by the number of tours on offer and called into the office. We booked the half day Nuns Valley tour.
We were collected on time from our hotel and our driver/guide Tino could not have been more helpful.
He was genuinely happy to be escorting us through his beautiful country, and his enthusiasm and love for Madeira was clear.
The views were stunning and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather. Do remember that it’s much cooler in the mountains though.

Nuns Valley Tour
Just back from a very enjoyable tour. Our driver was superb, didn’t rush us and we had a really pleasant afternoon. We will most certainly be using Happy Tours again in the future

I can highly recommend this tour! Our driver/guide Louis was extremely knowledge about all things Madeiran, from It’s flora and fauna to local customs and events. He was friendly and professional. The stopping places did not disappoint. Spectacular views! Would not hesitate in booking another tour with this company.
Went on a great West Island tour with Hugo from Happy Tours today. Highly recommend this tour to see many spots on the island. Completely worthwhile and Hugo was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of interesting facts!
Happy tours were so good! We went as a group of 4 for the East Tour of the island. Can’t say you’ll be disappointed. We also got 30% off! Luis the tour guide was so passionate, full of energy and love. Providing an excellent history of the island. He would talk about the smallest things e.g trees and it made you want to be there. He would also translate after speaking English to Portuguese for locals. On the east tour, there’s an option to have a 3 course meal for €16 (which is the cheapest on the island), you must try the Espada (their local/native fish). But you must tell Luis the driver to call in and reserve for you. Make sure you meet at the check point early for the best seats on the mini bus! If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be for you but know you are in very safe hands. Enjoy!

Sunday Best
We booked a West Island tour. To be picked up at 9.05am on Sunday morning. Luis was prompt and very welcoming. The mini bus was quite busy but comfortable. Air con was an added bonus. From start to finish we had an amazing time. Me, My Mother in Law and Partner, knew about Caba Girao and Camera de lobos but not the rest of our visits today. We'll timed, informative and really enjoyable without ANY hard sell. Happy tours and Luis thank you. We will be back next year. Wish we'd found you at the start of our holidays

Booked a 'Go East' tour in the office by the monumental experience shopping centre, staff were friendly and efficient. We were picked for the tour on time by Nuno our guide and driver for the day. The tour was really enjoyable stopping at Camacha, Pico do Areeiro,Ribeiro Frio,Santana,Portela,Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico along with various viewpoints with stunning vistas and even a stop at a rum distillery. Nuno was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and kept us interested in where we were and what we were seeing. All in all a really nice, enjoyable day. Thanks Nuno.

We did the levada da referta last week with a knowledgeable and friendly guide in beautiful surroundings. The walk was easy and almost flat.

Ich habe 4 Wanderungen mit Happy Tours gemacht und alle haben mir gut gefallen. Die Guides sprechen verschiedene Sprachen und waren alle sehr nett und kompetent. Alles war super organisiert. Die Peaks Wanderung ist sehr empfehlenswert und bei meinem nächsten Besuch werde ich hier wieder die Wanderungen buchen.

We had the levada walk 25 fountains. The driver was friendly and on time. The guide made some jokes and cared for the group. The guide spoke English and Portuguese at a good level. The walk was at a good pace. During the walk he checked in with everybody in the group and told lots of things about the nature and culture. The walk itself was moderate difficult, but can be a bit hard on the knees.

Wir haben verschiedene Touren unternommen und alle waren sehr schön. Die Fahrzeuge sind sehr modern. Die verschiedenen Guides waren auch alle top und die Preise sind trotzdem sehr günstig. Man bekommt auf jedenfall viel geboten. Ich kann die Wanderungen empfehlen.
We booked 3 levada walking trips with Madeira Happy Tours in our week in Madeira from 6-13th March. King's Levada, Madeira Lakes and Queimadas. So easy to deal with and so helpful and informative. We would have done 4 but MHT notified us by Whatsapp that one had to be cancelled due to a landslide but they were so accommodating trying to resolve it for us (we opted for a refund so we could have a rest for a day!). The levada walks are fantastic, the guides are very knowledgeable and the views are spectacular. The pickup mini coaches were on time or within a few minutes despite the heavy morning traffic in the Lido area. All this and a great price as well. If we return to Madeira for a third time we would use MHT again and would recommend them to others. PS the office is on the next road up from the back of the Pestana Promenade (were we stayed) and the Enotel Lido.
Had a lovely trip to Sunday Market with Hugo who was a really good tour guide.I have been coming to the Island for a few years and still learned more from him!. We are intending to book more tours with them in the next couple of weeks.
Escolhi o percurso Oeste da Madeira e valeu a pena. A condutora/guia Marta foi bastante informativa, simpática e com bom sentido de humor. Destaco a paragem de 90 minutos em Porto Moniz com fantástica paisagem de piscinas naturais! Irei certamente no futuro fazer a parte Este!
We had a wonderful time! Marta our guide was so funny and so kind. Our 8 year old started to feel sick and she went out of her way to make sure she was comfortable. The mini bus was fantastic, extremely clean and comfortable. We will be doing other tours with this company .

Marta was great. Very friendly and we learnt and saw a lot about the island. We were unlucky with the weather (Pico do Arieiro was sadly completely cloud covered) but Marta more than made up for it by adding a new stop to our tour down by the coast with an amazing viewpoint.

Martha holte uns pünktlich auf die Minute von unserem Kreuzfahrtschiff ab, und navigierte uns souverän im Kleinbus auch über Nebenstraßen, die für die großen Busse der vom Kreuzfahrtunternehmen vermittelten Veranstalter zu klein und eng gewesen wären, über die wunderschöne Insel. Dabei erzählte sie allerhand Informatives in sehr gutem Deutsch. Die Essempfehlung absolut spitze, der mit Bananen oder Maracuja überbackene Fisch war das beste Essen auf all unseren Ausflügen, die wir ansonsten nur über den Kreuzfahrtanbieter gebucht haben. Wir hatten die Westtour, und ca. zehn Tage vorher mit PayPal bezahlt. Wir waren zu viert, und alle begeistert. Wir würden jederzeit wieder bei Madeira Happy Tours buchen.

Gestern die West Tour gemacht. Abholung und das Zurückbringen haben sehr geklappt. Wir waren insgesamt eine kleine Gruppe mit 10 Personen. der Bus war groß genug. unsere Fahrerin Marta war ein toller Guide, konnte alle Fragen beantworten und hatte noch n tollen Tip für ein leckeres Mittagessen. wir waren rundum zufrieden. excellent mini bus tours to west and east of island enjoyed at 20 euros each pp. Both good guides and one brilliant (from Oporto). Good value and saw so much. Will collect and take back to hotels that is great. You could not see so much with normal buses is a fact. No hesitation
We initially booked our first tour of the west of the island based on the price and convenience of a booth seeking tours next to our hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. One of our party became unwell the day we were supposed to go. A call to the mobile on the ticket quickly

Used HappyTours last year so wanted to use them again this year when we were a big group. Hugo was our guide we did a full day on West tour and Nuns valley for a half day. We went on the west tour with our amazing tour guide Hugo. What a funny, nice guy who really loves his job! 😊 He told interesting story’s about Madeira, showed us nice places and was a really safe driver! Booked the East island tour, and well worth the money. The guide was fantastic she was a brilliant driver up some of the narrow roads !!! Her parking was something else. She could get onto the smallest spaces. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip thanks to her.

Great tour operator - I'm very happy with the service I received from these guys (especially Marco!). Walked in off the street and had a very good conversation with Marco, and was very pleased with the amount of information he gave me on the island. I only had 3 days in Madeira but Marco helped me to make the most of it with the available excursions. I ended up booking some half and full day tours around the Eastern half of the island, along with a trip up to Pico Do Arieiro and a dolphin watching boat ride. Was very happy with the prices charged for me and 3 friends. Had no issues with the collection and drop off times, they collected us from an agreed location at the time that was given (=no waiting around which I was happy with). The tour guides on our excursions were very professional, were able to cater to different languages, and were very engaging and social throughout the journeys. Next time I'm in Madeira I'm coming back here to book more trips!!
Pleased to recommend these guys. I've been out with them 5 times in the last few years. Knowledgeable & reliable guides. Cheaper than the TUI or travel company equivalent tours. Strongly advise the East & West are the best options - and take the guides suggestion for lunch as they get you a full 3 course meal with limitless drinks for around €15 in cash.
Wir haben die Westtour und drei Wanderungen bei Madeira Happy Tours gebucht. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist spitze und die Fahrer und guides sind sehr souverän und sympathisch. Wir haben uns gut betreut und sicher gefühlt. Einen Tag haben wir schlechtes Wetter erwischt, da wurden wir auf Wunsch mit Regenjacken und Taschenlampen versorgt. Die guides sprachen viele verschiedene Sprachen. Natürlich war Englisch meist die beste und informativste Sprache, aber ich denke man kann froh sein, dass man in einem fremden Land Informationen in der eigenen Landessprache bekommt. Wir sind mit Happy Tours sehr zufrieden, das Agenturbüro hat uns bestens beraten und wir werden nächstes Mal definitiv wieder bei Happy Tours buchen. Unser Urlaub ist durch die Touren einfach perfekt geworden. Danke auch besonders an unsere guides Jessy und "Elvis".
Мне понравилось. Цены хорошие. Можно конечно найдти дешевле, но надо искать. Туры стандартные - как у всех. Автобусы новые но места для ног мало... Мы брали тур на немецком - гид говорил на двух языках английском и переводил на немецкий. По поводу тура - это скорее комментарии к тому что мы видим. Хотелось бы побольше информации.
Excelente la excursión de día completo en la ruta de Porto Moniz. El conductor muy agradable y el paseo muy entretenido aprovechando para conocer esta ruta y sacar muchas fotos. Recomiendo esta agencia por calidad y precio ya que por 22 € por persona tienes una excursión excelente con tiempos de parada, etc... Sin duda un día muy muy aprovechado.
I have a very good experiences with the Madeira Happy Tours. I participated in the walking tour from Pico Areeiro to Pico Ruivo. I booked it via mail. Contact with the company was very good, they answered every mail immediately. I lived in Funchal, so the guide picked me up from the hotel, and brought there at the end. Everything was punctual and well organised. The guide spoke fluently english, german and french. We walked not very fast, enough to rest, admire the views and take the photos. I recommend this tour operator:)

The Provider is highly recommended. The driver is very friendly and telling you very interesting facts about Madeira. We had a little older driver. It was perfect. He was funny and spoke german. Thank you. If you make a Cruise ,Madeira Happy Tours is perfect to exploring the island. You explore the Island with a small Mercedes bus. We were with Aida sail away. Safe, friendly, inexpensive and fine.
